I dispositivi hardware Altecon sono strutturati per moduli. Il modulo principale è il Centralino IOIP che funge da interfaccia tra la camera (o l'area comune, o l'ufficio) ed il resto dell'impianto.
Il Centralino IOIP comunica verso l'esterno dell'ambiente tramite il BUS di comunicazione IP, mentre verso i dispositivi interni (lettore apriporta, lettore porta tessere, termostato, consolle, ..) tramite un BUS apposito (Room Bus).


Un centralino, molteplici dispositivi

Ciò che caratterizza una camera è la tipologia dei dispositivi interni ad essa. Le soluzioni Altecon sono in grado di operare con i diversi dispositivi senza bisogno di apportare alcuna modifica hardware nè al Centralino IOIP nè al Room Bus.
Per rivoluzionare la struttura di una camera è quindi sufficiente scollegare i dispositivi presenti sostituendoli con quelli necessari per ottenere la prestazione voluta, oppure aggiungerne di nuovi.
Ogni dispositivo si collega al Room Bus tramite plug, e ciò consente, in caso di guasto, di sostituire un dispostivo in tempi brevissimi e senza che sia necessario l'intervento di personale tecnico specializzato.
Ciascun Centralino IOIP è in grado di supportare fino a 16 nodi, tre dei quali sono altri Centralini Slave, la cui funzione è di rendere disponibile un maggior numero di uscite e ingressi rispetto a quelle già presenti su un Centralino IOIP.

Altecon's hardware devices are modular. The main module is the IP Central Unit that operates as an interface between the room (or the common area, or the office) and the rest of the equipment. The IP Central Unit uses the IP communication BUS to communicate with the external world, and uses a specific BUS (named Room Bus) to communicate with the devices (card reader, card holder, thermostat, console, ...) in the room.


One Control Unit, many Devices

A room is characterized by the type of devices it contains. Altecon's solutions can operate with the different devices without any change to the hardware, the IP Central Unit or the Room Bus.
To change the structure of a room, you only have to disconnect the devices and replace them with the new devices bringing the function required or add new devices.
Each device plugs into the Room Bus and, in case of damage, it can be replaced very quickly with the intervention of technical engineers.
The IP Central Unit supports up to 16 nodes, of which three nodes are Slave Control Units, that provide a number of inputs and outputs, greater than the number of inputs and outputs already present in the IPIP Control Unit.
