The BUS is a channel that allows the devices building up the automation solution to communicate with one another.

Installing a tradizional hotel automation solution involves the need to provide the room with different services, using a specific cable for each of them:
- Power supply for the automation
- Data line for the automation
- Phone line
- Internet data line

Altecon takes advantage from the IP BUS's capability to bring the automation into the room. The lines dedicated to each single service are grouped in a MIDSPAN able to support up to 8 or 12 rooms simultaneously. The advantages in terms of network simplicity and material saving in laying down the cable, are quite evident.
